500 tractor units
With this addition, its Scania fleet will reach 500 tractor units. “We exclusively operate Scania tractors and have made this investment to renew our fleet and reduce costs,” says Okan Kurt, Member of the Martaş Board of Directors. The aim of the company is to save ten percent on fuel costs with the new Scania trucks.
The Martaş Group provides safe, high-quality and timely services in Europe with an established company in Italy. It also operates in challenging markets such as Afghanistan and Iraq as well as and in the domestic Turkish market. Its ambitious target is to reach a fleet of 1,500 trucks by 2023.
Group Chairman Abdi Kurt praised Scania for its durability. “Our relationship dates back 23 years and this collaboration now continues into the new truck generation. Our trucks clock 20,000 kilometres daily and we focus on the five-year performance of the vehicles we use as well as on the residual value.”
